The Zizkov Television Tower was built in between 1985 and 1992 by the architect Václav Aulický. During its construction, the old Jewish cemetery was destroyed. Although its singular design is a violation of the architectural harmony of the city, this tower has become in a symbol of Prague. One of the characteristics of this tower are the babies’ sculptures crawling up and down. It was a temporal installation but in 2001 the babies were added as a permanent installation.
