Uemura invites you to live a double experience where you will get to know a bit more about the history of the country. Firstly, we will make a trip to the Constantine Palace, you will visit the Ceremonial Hall and the living rooms. You will listen to the fascinating history of the creation of the palace and of the park in Strelna, about the life of the owners, the tragic times of decline and destruction, the great renovation and the current state of the “National Congress Palace” Estate Complex. The wine cellars of the Constantine Palace appeared during Elizabeth I’s reign. The empress, who was not indifferent to Hungarian wines, showed special interest for dessert wine, also known as “Tokai”. In the palace wine cellars, there are still evidences of the passions of the different Czars: Burgundy wine, loved by the courts of Nicholas I and Alexander II; champagne, introduced by Catherine the Great; and of course, Tokai. Furthermore, the shop has high quality wines from Chile, South Africa, Germany, Austria and Israel. For that reason, Uemura invites you to a small private wine tasting, where a sommelier with extensive experience will tell us the history of the origin of wine, of the most successful harvests and the wine composition varieties. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any special request. Our team will be pleased to help you at any time.
